USA Men's National Team- my heroes
The seats we had were in the 300 level, which were EXCELLENT. Congratulations to Santino Quaranta who scored the goal in the 75th, but make sure you look at Benny Feilhaber who helped build that whole play up. The first half was slow. Great attempts by Freddy and Ching. Though I did not watch all of the Haiti vs. Grenada game, it was still great to watch Haiti stick in and seal the deal with a second goal! Great job by them too. It was excellent to see him in. Moving on to a great game- USA vs. Honduras. Good work by Heath Pearce. The US had some great chances but it was difficult for us to get the ball past a back line of 5 Honduran players. Basically the whole side I was on believed the ball went in but when they took the goal kick we realized it was on the other side. He was working hard getting the ball up there. The USA team was incredible. Some believed it was an offsides call but, nope! There was a little more momentum going into the second half- still a little slow. We were surrounded by a sea of white and blue, barely seeing red, white, and blue except across the stadium. He gets things going. You could really see the visions Benny had on the field. He knew where to put the ball and where it was going. I was on the edge of my seat in the 30th minute when the pass was made up to a Honduran player and took a strike on Perkins but missed. Then hearing the final whistle- incredible. But also, excellent job to the Honduran team. Whenever they had the ball they put that extra pump into getting it past us. Great job by them too. Things picked up when Benny Feilhaber and Charlie Davies came in. Feilhaber always brings new energy into the game. His pass to Brian Ching and then the quick spin gets the ball back then to Charlie Davies then right to Santino. He really helped that play go. Then only about 5 minutes later we have a great ball right to Ching and he sends that bad boy to the back of the net. I couldn't stop screaming and cheering.
